Hong Kong Police Force UAV Team Visits PolyU TAS Lab to Foster Collaboration in UAV Technology and Safety
On April 30, 2025, the UAV Team from the Hong Kong Police Force, led by Superintendent KO Chung-ying from the Key and Search Division of the Major Events Division, visited the TAS Lab at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). The visit aimed to facilitate technical exchanges and explore collaboration opportunities in the field of UAV technology and safety.
Upon arrival, the UAV team engaged in close discussions with members of TAS Lab, covering a wide range of topics including UAV applications in urban environments, system design, and operational safety.
Dr. Wen Weisong, Assistant Professor at PolyU and Principal Investigator(PI) of TAS Lab, joined the event and conducted in-depth discussions with the delegation on topics such as UAV regulation and risk management. Both parties expressed a strong willingness to pursue future cooperation.

The visit concluded with a guided tour of the TAS Lab’s facilities, including the UAV flight area, navigation test platforms, and autonomous system testing platforms. The exchange laid a solid foundation for upcoming collaborative efforts between the university and the Hong Kong Police Force.
