PolyU-ASTRI Showcases Innovations in Low-Altitude Economy Technologies in Shenzhen
Jan 10 2025, the “Greater Bay Area (Shenzhen) Business Community High-Level Forum and Exchange Conference 2025” was held successfully, organized by the Hong Kong Industrial Committee with support from ASTRI, PolyU and other organizations. The event featured prominent attendees, including Mr. Meng Fanli, Secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Committee and Shenzhen Municipal Committee, Mr John Lee Ka-Chiu, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and Professor Sun Dong, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry.
The delegation, joined by ASTRI Chairman Mr. Lee Ching-kwong and other board members, explored ASTRI’s cutting-edge advancements in low-altitude economy technologies. These included breakthroughs in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) communication systems, high-precision positioning modules jointly developed with PolyU, decarbonized power solutions, and next-generation 5G wireless technologies designed specifically for drone inspections and tracking applications.
During the forum, Dr. Wang Ying, CEO and Chief Technology Officer of ASTRI, shared the institute’s vision for fostering innovation and industry collaboration within the Greater Bay Area. He highlighted the success of joint projects, emphasizing their role in advancing high-quality production and technological exchange between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

The evening concluded with the screening of a video created using ASTRI’s AI-powered tools. Leaders from ASTRI, the Productivity Council, and the Science Park extended New Year greetings, showcasing the spirit of innovation and collaboration for the year ahead.
