TAS-Lab Members Visit Gammon Construction

Hong Kong – June 12, 2025 – This morning, members from TAS-Lab visited Gammon Construction. The group included Prof. WEN Weisong, Dr. HUANG Feng, PhD students XIAO Naigui and CHEN Yingming, and research assistant WANG Xiangru.

The purpose of the visit was to introduce TAS-Lab’s research to Gammon and discuss potential applications in the construction industry.

During the meeting, Prof. Wen presented TAS-Lab’s research fields, past projects, and experience. He also demonstrated prototypes of the lab’s UAVs and a handheld mapping system. The systems generated a lot of interest and discussion.

Questions included the technical differences between TAS-Lab’s UAVs and commercial DJI drones, and the working principles of the handheld mapping system.

The Gammon team also introduced their expertise and the technologies used in construction, such as their digital twin applications for improving site safety and efficiency.

The meeting served as a practical exchange of ideas and opened up possibilities for future cooperation between the lab and the company.
