Prof. Wenfeng Nie Leads Shandong University Undergraduate Delegation to TASLAB
On July 29, 2026, Prof. Wenfeng Nie, Head of the Department of Navigation Engineering and Remote Sensing at the School of Space Science and Technology, Shandong University, led a delegation of undergraduate students on a visit to the Trustworthy AI and Autonomous Systems Laboratory (TASLAB) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). The delegation was hosted by Prof. Weisong Wen, Director of TASLAB.
During the visit, the delegation toured the FJ005 Laboratory, where the students learned about TASLAB’s experimental environment and research platforms for trustworthy artificial intelligence and autonomous systems. The laboratory tour introduced robotic platforms, sensing equipment, and integrated navigation technologies used in research on perception, positioning, and autonomous operation.

The visitors also learned about selected research achievements of PolyU’s Department of Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering (AAE). Through the department’s research displays, Prof. Wen introduced current projects and discussed how advances in aeronautical and aviation engineering connect with intelligent sensing, navigation, and autonomous systems.

The visit gave the undergraduate students an opportunity to experience PolyU’s research environment and gain first-hand insight into ongoing work at TASLAB and AAE. It also strengthened mutual understanding and created opportunities for future academic exchange in navigation, remote sensing, and autonomous systems.
