TASLAB Supports PolyU FENG AI & Robotics Club at Student Orientation 2026

On September 1, 2026, members of the Trustworthy AI and Autonomous Systems Laboratory (TASLAB) supported the PolyU FENG AI & Robotics Club during PolyU Student Orientation 2026. The event welcomed new students to campus and gave them an opportunity to discover the club’s activities, meet its members, and explore how artificial intelligence and robotics can be applied through hands-on engineering projects.

Introducing Robotics to New Students

At the orientation showcase, the club presented a range of robotic platforms and student projects, including humanoid and quadruped robots, mobile robots, and competition robots. Live demonstrations and project videos offered visitors a direct view of the club’s technical interests and created an accessible starting point for students who were curious about robotics, whether or not they had previous experience.

Prof. Weisong Wen delivered an information session introducing the PolyU FENG AI & Robotics Club and its vision. He also shared examples of TASLAB’s research and explained how students can deepen their understanding of intelligent systems through technical exchange, teamwork, and practical projects. The session helped prospective members learn more about the club and the opportunities available to participate in its future activities.

Engagement across the PolyU Community

The booth attracted interest throughout the orientation showcase. The President of PolyU visited the booth, learned about the robots on display, and joined the student team for a group photograph. The visit provided an encouraging opportunity for club members to present their work and enthusiasm for robotics to the University leadership.
